Just another list of sorts

Things on my to do list:

* Finish uploading all the mp3's into 64kps, then create another playlist for "Music Whore Radio".

* write my fellow slacker junkie, tabbi, a letter.

* figure out how to set up my nameserver to connect with my current host.

* decide on what blogging software platform to use.

* Watch "evil dead" and "Evil dead 2: Dead by dawn".

Some interesting things coming

So I have been quite busy lately with my little hobbies.

* I just got a host for my domain yesterday. I got it through Blog Moxie Hosting. I was hoping it could be a one stop shop. I was hoping to get my hosting done as well as a design but they are currently not accepting requests for blog designs. **sigh.**

* I also started to create a radio station with my musical co-hort Andrea. "Music Whore Radio" is created by Music Whores for the general masses to discover new tunes.

And that is generally what I have spent today doing before work. Basically I have re-formating some mp3's to have 64kps instead of the cleaner 128 to 160. Between doing that and uploading them, I have been extremely busy!

The station so far is available here.

Good Grief

As much as I love my fellow co workers, at times they can drive me nuts.

Case in point last night.

Next to the fitting room, is the magical P.A. system. (God bless it... Sweet sanity.)

Through this system we can hook up a simple radio and play whatever we want to listen to all night long.

Unfortunely, on some nights no one can decide on what music station they want it on... So through out the night the stations get changed.

It drive sme insane. For 20 minutes it will on KROQ (the alternative station) then it will get changed to Jack FM (Hybrid station that plays pretty much anything.)

In one night, the staion can get bounced between hip hop to classical to alternative to soft rock to hip hop again, then back to the alternative station.

I wanted to scream yesterday.

We all can't be saints

I tried really really hard to keep from biting my nails. I really did.

I bought myself a bottle of clear Sally Hanson "Hard as Nails" nailpolish after a co-worker described my chewed up nails as "disgusing".

I kept them perfectly coated for about a week. I even resisted the urge to nibble on them..

Until about a hour ago. Damn.

I started to drink some coffee and it was all over. I never even noticed my fingers in mouth. I just mindless chewed on my thumb nail until I hit a nerve and realized what I had done.

No matter what I seem to do I can't seem to keep my fingers from going into my mouth. I think it's a sort of nervous tick I have developed and hate.

Ladies and Gentlemen. You can now begin to panic

I should be writing right now, but for the last 30 minutes I have been grabbing my little tummy in pain.

My guess it's either gas (completely possible -- have you seen what I eat??) or it's cramps. (Good lord.. let it be the cramps!)

I have never wanted cramps so bad in my entire life! My period is late. Umm.. yeah.

There no words that can describe my weekend paranoia over that thought. I even went as far as going out in the middle of a rain storm to go to the pharmacy to get a pregnancy test.

I got the digital one that actually spells out either "Yes" or "No". I figure that I wasn't gonna take any chances. I broke it out of the protective wrapping as I quickly put the damn together and took it.

And you know -- those commericals never ever fill you on the fact while you are tilting the test downward towards your urine steam, that it's gonna naturally bounce back off and shoot you right in the eye.

Yup.. In addition to having to wait the longest three minutes of my life i managed to shoot my own urine right in my eye ball.

NOT PREGNANT said the test.

I sighed.

I was relived yet worried. "Then where is my period then?"

I'm hoping to start to tonight. (Fingers crossed.)

Drama in the Work Place

It's just been one of them days. Or rather nights.

Sigh.

Picture it, if you will..
In my department, we lost our beloved boss due to a promotion and because of it, our little team cannot get their collective shit together.

I love these ladies, I really do but without some sort of direction, they are just lost.

So everyone naturally starts to try pick the "boss" role by telling everyone what to do, which in turn causes conflict within the group.

It even went as far as me and a co worker almost punching each other's lights out. She barks orders at me like I'm a dog. Like somehow she see's us as below her and I'm not gonna put up with that, you know.

We got into a huge dispute over it and didn't talk all night unless we had to.

You know, that really pissed off yet polite for work voice.

Her : Could you pleassssse scan this for me?
Me : Okay. Fine. Here. Happy?
Her : Oh I couldn't be happiler.
Me. Good.

The whole freaking night was like that. It actually started to get on my nerves. I wanted to be the bigger person and throw in the white flag because frankly, I was getting a headache.

It's a bit too much drama for 3 in the morning.

Going to see Garbage

Yup. Me, your lovely occasional blogger has got tickets to see her favorite rock goddess, Shirley Manson, when she rolls around in April.

**sweet**

Actually it's me and the boyfriend. He surprised me with the tickets. So this will make it his first concert and my second. (Insert evil smile here.)

So this asks that all important question : What am I going to wear?

Edit: Had to change the title to this entry because for some reason or another Haloscan doesn't like any "'s" in their titles. weird.

Nightmare Before Christmas Wedding?

Wedding plans are sort of coming along. ;)

The boyfriend and I had a long time about what kind of theme to do and we have 100% decided on the "Halloweenish" theme. Closer to the point, more of a "Nightmare Before Christmas" wedding.

I will give you all a couple minutes to giggle away.

Done yet?

Okay now we have that out of our system.. On to the planning!

No Luck

Okay... so I'm starting to realize that getting my best friend back is gonna take more then a couple e-cards.

Shoot. I'm lucky if she answers any of her emails or phone calls.

Sigh.

Messed Up in California

Do you ever one those “I am an asshole” wedding singer type of moments? You know the ones… You have convinced yourself so much about something that you start to believe it, then something comes to light that makes me realize how much of a utter ass you happen to be.

I had one of those moments today, kids, and it wasn’t fun.

Actually the moment I speak of is actually 3 months in the making.

My best friend and I every year arrange to have the presents we bought for each exchanged some where. Well communication between the two of us was limited to e-mails and occasional group postings.

Well, Christmas came and went and I could not for the life of me figure why she hadn’t picked up her present. I just figured she was extremely busy and all so I didn’t sweat it.

February turned into March and all my phone calls and e-mails went unanswered. I started to worry. It’s never good when that happens.

Then I go to check on our group “Slacker Web Junkies” for any updates. ( Note: I need to check on my groups more oftern!)

I start to go through the various posts to see if she had written anything. Then Isaw my mistake.

I tried too, to send out all my Christmas cards, but we all know they will just end up in the box that they came in even after Christmas.

I'll give you mine when I see you at work. You are working on Christmas, aren't you. I have to work that night. Midnight so that makes it actually the 26th.

Love, Tay Tay”

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

In the madness of working and trying to get everything done I had completely forgetton that I had said that. (Or the fact that I even wrote it.) Needless to say, I feel like an asshole.

So to the surprise of no one I get this response.

“…i got stood up the entire weekend no big deal i just returned it all to the stores. your present however will be on the way when the fucking ups guy comes off vacation.”

So here I am today feeling like an asshole. Retarded. Stupid. Dumb. It took me three months to figure out why my best friend wasn’t talking to me.

So now I’m stuck in this place of depression. I can’t believe I wrote that then forgot about it. I completely forgot it.

So now I’m trying to figure out how to get her talking to me again. Huh.. Just any ideas.

Music Memoirs Meme

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, as most of you all know I've been working like crazy and neglecting all my blogging duties which includes my share of memes.

So to make good on that... Here are some musical memes for you to delight in.
These mp3's expire after 7 days, so get 'em while they are here.

From Musical Memoirs....

Top five songs and or albums from artists that are no longer with us.

01. Prince's of the Universe - Queen.mp3

God I miss Queen and the over the top vocal stylings of one Mr. Freddie Mercury. (sigh.) At lease we have the music to re-visit whenever we want to hear that voice.

This one of my favoriote songs from him and the band.

02. Magnificent Seven - The Clash.mp3

There is something so raw and cool about Joe Strummer and The Clash. Together they were this collection of political passion, great guitar hooks and a fun vibe.

03. Love Will Tear US Apart - Joy Division.mp3

Probably simply one of the most underated bands of all time. And this song is simply a classic in the sense that it could be a good 20 years from now, and people will still find inspiration from it. They still will attempt to try to cover it... yet none shall compare to darkness of the original.

04. Don't Change - INXS.mp3

I can remember when Michael Hutchence passed away, that a lot people especially music critics were too quick to put that "80's"/ "New Wave Band from way back in the day" label upon them, their legacy and Michael Hutchence, which I felt was a bit off. INXS made some great tunes that were more powerful and meaningful then then typical gloss of their Top 40 hits that got radio play. The inspiring "Don't Change" was one of each songs. Something about the song makes me feel good about being alive and that is a special feeling to capture on to song.

05. Something in the Way - Nirvana.mp3

Yeah, I was a Kurt Cobain fan. Still am. Consider it a weakness, but I have always musically embraced singers who tend to sound hurt, wounded or tortured in some way. I don't know why exactly. I think it's because for me, it's so easy to hide behind a veil of Pop Diva fakeness rather then really expose yourself on album for all the world to see. To see your pain, anger, grief etc... And I think that something in Kurt's voice stirred something in me that cannot be explained and has yet to be replaced.

Tell Me Your Birthday

With Love..

Radio Revolution

I just created this radio after getting annoyed with the typical top 40 songs I hear hour after hour. So with the help of Andrea we created "Music Whore Radio".

Don't be fooled by the title. You don't have to be a music whore to enjoy the station (But it helps;)

Here you will find a little bit of everything. New Wave.. Alternative.. Classic rock.. Downtempo.. Trip Hop.. And some great stuff FM radio would never touch in a million years! I hope you enjoy what you hear and if you have any comments or ideas on how to make the station better, please feel free to e-mail me.
