2004-12-09Christmas Shopping Made EasyMy best friend Natalie and I have been going back and forth about Christmas and what to get one another.
"I think it should be a DVD Christmas." - She declares. "Um" seems to be the key word. Everyone I have asked, what they happened to want for Christmas has given me the same response. So in order to avoid that, I decided to post my Christmas Wishlist. Enjoy!

Any collectables for: 8:36 p.m.2004-12-06Mommas Got a New StashThanks goes in part to Andrea for making me realize the great world of Bit Torrent downloads.I just got the Muse album. And I think the Dead Can Dance's "Toward the Within" album. (My brother says that I did, but I wouldn't know. I left the computer on, and went back to bed.) Has anyone out there in blogland used these downloads yet? How do you like them? I, myself, haven't tried to burn them on to cd yet. 6:00 a.m.2004-12-06My First Baby Shower and Maybe my lastSo I went to my high school friend's "baby shower" this weekend. It was up in Lytle Creek, California. Way way in "Butt Fuck Egypt". My best friend was driving us there and we had to take one of the most winding roads I have ever seen in my life. It was like a quick left, a quick right, then a circle, then another right, then another left. It seems to go on for hours. To add insult to major injury, it was raining, and my best friend made it a point to point out all the "Caution: Mudslides" signs. We made it there alive (Thank God!) I felt ackward though. I had never been to a baby shower before, so I didn't know what to expect. What did I learn from the experence : I'm gonna avoid most baby showers from this moment on ward. Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see my old friend and give her my love. But being in a room full of people who I don't know and that don't know me wasn't fun. There was no point in getting to know anyone there because I'd never see them again. My best friend and her boyfriend started to feel alieanated by our high school friend's extended family. (My best friend is black and her boyfriend is white. And they got the sense that her family wasn't really that responsive towards them.) I felt kinda bad over that. It's such a shame that people feel the need to judge others that they haven't even met yet. 5:49 a.m. |
